FIELD GUIDE 01 / OPEN DISTRIBUTION

You're Not
Trapped.
You're Addicted.

A source trail for the soul-trap story, and a harder question about what the story does to the person consuming it.

The video is the editorial. This file is the backup. It traces the modern prison-planet package backward through the sources it cites, separates frightening experiences from later explanations, and shows where the argument itself is weak.

THE CLAIM

Don't believe the video.
Check the trail.

The field guide is built for people who want to challenge the argument, not just hear it.

WHAT IT DOES

Tracks the story backward.

From the modern false-light and recycling package to Monroe, Gnostic texts, Tibetan material, Plato, and other older sources.

WHAT IT CHALLENGES

The cause, not the witness.

A frightening experience can be real. The guide questions the claim that an outside processing system caused it.

WHAT IT INCLUDES

The case against itself.

The “thin ice” pages name the places where the evidence conflicts, the analogy stretches, or the argument simply cannot be proved.

Why are we so sure the jailer is outside us, and what has consuming that explanation trained us to do?

FOUR FAST CHECKS

The shortest route through the evidence.

These are not the whole case. They are four places where the source trail is easy to inspect for yourself.

01

TIBETAN BARDO MATERIAL

The famous source does not say “never go into the light.”

It treats recognition of the clear light as a route toward liberation. The danger it names is confusion, attachment, karma, and habit.

02

ROBERT MONROE / LOOSH

The original material is stranger and less tidy than the internet version.

Monroe used garden, collection, need, and harvest imagery. The later trap package adds a much more complete predator system than the original books contain.

03

DISTRESSING NDE RESEARCH

Frightening is not the same report as “recycling machine.”

Fear, void states, loss of control, and hellish imagery are real parts of the literature. That does not make them reports of deliberate processing, memory wiping, or coerced return.

04

VIETNAM HEROIN RESEARCH

The person mattered. The drug mattered. The environment mattered too.

The guide uses the Robins data as an analogy for how a pattern can feel permanent while still being tied to context, cues, roles, and the world around it.

THE HABIT

Set the afterlife aside for one minute.

Ask what the material is doing to the person consuming it.

  • Are the hours going up while practice goes down? More videos and threads. Less meditation, journaling, OBE work, dream work, or whatever practice you say matters.
  • Does it make you more afraid, and you go back anyway? A thing that reliably makes life worse and still gets checked on schedule deserves inspection.
  • Does any of it turn into action? Hundreds of hours of information with no practice log is information consumption, not preparation.
  • Have you tried to cut back and failed? That question does not settle the cosmology. It tells you something about the behavior.

BUILT TO BE ARGUED WITH

The guide shows its weak spots too.

THIN ICE 01

No laboratory proof of the central afterlife claim.

The habit-shaped-afterlife idea is a convergence of old texts and testimony, not a scientific finding.

THIN ICE 02

The NDE numbers conflict.

Retrospective studies and prospective hospital studies do not give the same distress rate. The guide does not pretend that problem is solved.

THIN ICE 03

Environment is not magic.

The Vietnam data show context matters a great deal. They do not show that changing a room automatically cures addiction.
